Certified Surgical Technologist

Location and Schedule Location: Medical Center-Prosper | Department: Surgery-IP/OP | Shift: First Shift (United States of America) | Standard Weekly Hours: 40 | Hours: 40 hours (5) 8 hour day shifts. On call requirements are 6-8 days per month including 2–24 hour weekend on call shifts. Summary The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) will provide skilled technical care to pediatric patients in the operating room according to their identified needs. This includes performing in the role of Scrub Nurse or First Assistant to the Surgeon under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician. Functions are guided by the documented nursing care plan and focus on technical skills involving surgical instruments and equipment, with close collaboration with the surgical team. Responsibilities Perform technical tasks in the operating room for pediatric patients. Serve as a Scrub Nurse or First Assistant to the Surgeon. Utilize surgical instruments and equipment efficiently and safely. Collaborate closely with the surgical team. Required Education and Certification/Licensure High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of a Surgical Technology Program. Certification through NBSTSA or NCCT prior to start of employment. Current BLS certification recognized by AHA. 3+ years’ experience preferred.
