Senior Mechanical Engineer

Pond is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy Mechanical team in Atlanta, GA. While this role will primarily support DoD and commercial aviation fueling projects, our team also delivers work across a variety of markets, including oil & gas, power delivery, renewables, and utilities.

In this role, you will play a key technical role—leading design efforts, guiding junior engineers, and serving as a subject‑matter resource on complex mechanical and fueling systems. This position is ideal for engineers who are ready to take on increased responsibility in project execution, coordination, and technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally in consulting or design for fueling, energy, or industrial projects
• Demonstrated ability to lead mechanical design packages, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions
• EIT required; PE strongly preferred (or ability to obtain in the near term)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging clients and stakeholders
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Additional Skills (Preferred)

• Extensive experience with fueling system design for DoD facilities, military airfields, or commercial aviation terminals
• Strong background in piping systems, storage tanks, hydrant fueling, and related mechanical infrastructure
• Experience performing or overseeing hydraulic analysis, system simulation, stress analysis, and equipment sizing
• Ability to interpret and develop technical specifications, lead QA/QC reviews, and mentor junior staff
