Senior Character Animator — Photoreal VFX for Film & Episodics

Job Title: Mid to Senior Level Animator Location: Melbourne / Vancouver / Los Angeles Job Description Luma Pictures is seeking a skilled Mid to Senior level Animator to join our team. As an Animator, you will be responsible for bringing characters, creatures, and objects to life by key frame animation. You will work closely with Animation Supervisor to ensure animations integrate seamlessly into the final visual effects shots. Prerequisites Minimum 5+ years of experience in character / feature animation for film & episodics Proficiency in Maya is required Strong understanding of animation principles and creature/character performance Experience working with motion capture and keyframe animation Ability to work well in a team and take direction from leads and supervisors Excellent communication and time-management skills Skills Animate photorealistic characters, creatures, cameras and objects that match live-action plates and blend believably within a scene Solid understanding of body mechanics, weight, timing, and performance Work with matchmove, rigging, and layout teams to ensure animation assets are technically sound Must be able to produce a high volume of shots and multiple iterations quickly and accurately Maintain shot continuity and consistent performance throughout sequences Work with Animation Supervisor and Animation Lead to meet project deadlines and creative expectations Nice to Have Familiarity with FTrack, ShotGrid, or other production tracking tools Working knowledge of rigging or scripting (Python, MEL) Previous experience in high-end feature films, episodic content Familiarity with Unreal Engine or real-time animation workflows A passion for storytelling, character development, and performance-driven animation A working knowledge of Rigging is a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr Luma Pictures
