Description

American Traveler is hiring a solo overnight MRI Technologist for a Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and confidence working independently on night shift.

Details

• Acute care, Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level II Trauma status and 479 staffed beds
• MRI Tech unit, working solo overnight and independently
• 3x12 Night shifts, 5:30 PM to 6:00 AM, Sunday/Monday/Tuesday
• Weekend requirement every Sunday
• Uses Epic for charting
• Equipment includes GE and Siemens MRI systems with PACS

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• BLS and ARRT certification required
• ARRT MR certification preferred (license required if applicable)
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• ER/Trauma and Abdomen/Pelvis imaging experience required
• Skilled in abdominal, pelvic, head/neck, spine, chest, and musculoskeletal MRI procedures
• Experience with special imaging techniques including CINE, diffusion, gradient echo, and image post-processing preferred
• Proficient in preparation and administration of contrast media and starting peripheral IVs
• Comfortable working independently and confidently during solo overnight shifts

Additional Information

• Perform a wide range of MRI procedures including abdominal, pelvic, head and neck, spine, chest, musculoskeletal, and cardiovascular imaging
• Utilize surface coils and perform specialized imaging techniques such as MRA, MRV, and MRCP as needed
• Administer contrast media and start peripheral IVs as part of routine patient care
• Work holidays as required by the facility
• Local candidates are not accepted; must reside more than 25 miles from the facility
• Former employees must have a 9-month separation period before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed, with no time off during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• All time off requests must be disclosed and approved prior to starting the assignment
• Must complete required lab work and Livescan fingerprinting within 48 hours of signing, per Minnesota State requirements
• Fingerprinting must be completed in person in Minnesota on the Monday before the scheduled start date
• First-time travelers may not be considered due to travel experience requirement
