Qualifications

MD or DO from an accredited program
Completed Internship and Residency
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology
BLS and ACLS required
Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state/territory/commonwealth
Active DEA registration
Minimum 1 year recent Gastroenterology experience

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, treat, and manage gastroenterological diseases and conditions
Perform endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy)
Interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging
Prescribe medications and treatment plans
Admit, manage, and discharge GI patients as appropriate
Provide consultations and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Teach patients, families, and medical trainees
Complete medical documentation within 72 hours in accordance with Joint Commission standards
Participate in peer reviews, staff meetings, clinic operations, and training
Support inpatient rounds and emergent care as needed
Complete MEB documentation and fitness for duty evaluations as required
