Infinity TSD is currently seeking highly motivated and experienced Electrical Field Service Technicians to join our team. In this role, you will perform acceptance testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical distribution systems at customer sites.

Position Summary

This position requires working knowledge of electrical distribution equipment from major manufacturers (Square D/Schneider, GE, Siemens, Eaton, ABB, etc.) and familiarity with power distribution systems. Candidates should have at least five (5) years of relevant field service experience (electrical contractor service group, OEM service group, NETA testing company, or similar).

National travel is required. Work is often performed during customer outages and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. After-hours emergency response is also required.

Key Responsibilities

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally.

• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and ongoing customer-required screening as needed.

• Ability to manage a busy field schedule and arrive prepared and on time.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a crew.

• Ability to follow all Infinity TSD and customer safety procedures.

• 5+ years field service experience with an electrical OEM, electrical power testing company, or electrical contractor in an industrial environment (or equivalent power distribution background).

• Strong knowledge of three-phase power distribution systems.

• Working knowledge of low and medium voltage equipment, including switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, panelboards, circuit breakers, busway, starters/contactors, grounding systems, ground-fault systems, and protective relays.

• Track travel expenses and complete monthly expense reports with required documentation.

• Deliver consistent, professional customer service on every job site.

• Prepare professional customer test reports using PowerDB .

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Minimum 5 years of experience with medium and/or low voltage electrical power distribution equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in field environments.

Preferred Experience:

PLC & Automation Skills

• Experience with PLC programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting in industrial environments

• Ability to upload, download, and maintain PLC programs and backups

• Experience performing online and offline PLC diagnostics and troubleshooting

• Familiarity with PLC hardware configuration, rack setup, and I/O module diagnostics

• Ability to interpret PLC logic and troubleshoot control sequences

• Experience safely testing and verifying field inputs and outputs during startup and commissioning

PLC Platforms

Experience with one or more of the following platforms:

• Rockwell Automation Allen-Bradley ControlLogix / CompactLogix

• Siemens S7 / TIA Portal

• Schneider Electric Modicon PLCs

• Mitsubishi Electric MELSEC PLC systems

• Omron PLC systems

Software & Configuration Tools

• Experience using Schneider Control Expert software

• Experience with SEL AcSELerator QuickSet and AcSELerator RTAC software

• Ability to manage PLC/HMI project files, revisions, and documentation

• Familiarity with version control and maintaining accurate technical records

Industrial Networking & Communications

• Experience configuring Ethernet/IP industrial networks

• Understanding of TCP/IP addressing, subnetting, and static IP configuration

• Basic knowledge of industrial network switch configuration

• Experience configuring serial communications including RS-232 and RS-485

• Ability to troubleshoot Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU communication networks

• Experience troubleshooting device communications between PLCs, HMIs, relays, and field devices

• Familiarity with communication port configuration and network diagnostic tools such as ping and traceroute

• Understanding of industrial network topology and MAC addressing concepts

Networking & Industrial IT Fundamentals

• Working knowledge of IP addressing, subnet masks, gateways, and DHCP/static assignments

• Understanding of managed and unmanaged industrial Ethernet switches

• Experience troubleshooting industrial Ethernet communication issues

• Awareness of cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems

Electrical & Instrumentation Skills

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line drawings

• Experience troubleshooting industrial control panels and relay logic circuits

• Understanding of low-voltage control wiring and electrical control systems

• Experience performing instrument loop checks and signal verification

• Proficient with multimeter usage and electrical testing equipment

• Ability to verify analog and discrete signals including 4–20mA instrumentation and digital I/O

Commissioning & Field Service Skills

• Experience supporting electrical startup and commissioning activities

• Participation in FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) processes

• Ability to perform field communication testing and device verification

• Experience documenting IP schemes, communication settings, and device configurations

• Ability to update as-built drawings and commissioning documentation

• Experience supporting preventive maintenance and troubleshooting activities

• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving abilities in field environments

Professional & Soft Skills

• Strong technical documentation and reporting skills

• Effective communication with operators, engineers, contractors, and customers

• Ability to troubleshoot effectively in high-pressure environments

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple priorities

• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently in field condition

Preferred qualifications

• Experience terminating, splicing, and testing medium voltage cable .

• Mechanical service/repairs on switchgear and circuit breakers.

• Power monitoring installation and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with IoT hardware and common communication protocols.

• OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, and other electrical safety training (helpful; can be provided).

Working Conditions

• Extensive nationwide travel to data center construction sites.

• Work performed exclusively on data center projects , often in active construction or commissioning phases.

• Physical requirements include standing, climbing, lifting to 50 lbs., and working around electrical equipment following strict safety protocol

• Physical ability to lift test equipment/materials, climb ladders, work at heights (lifts/ladders), and perform occasional confined space work.
