This facility is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for locum tenens support as they look to fill a current need.

Details & requirements for this opportunity:

• Annual volume: 50,000
• Physician shift times: 7 pm-7 am, 7 am- 7 pm
• Advanced Practice coverage: To be determined
• Back-up specialties available: Emergency Room support
• Electronic Medical Record: Meditech
• Certifications required: Active Florida license, Drug Enforcement Administration license, American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM)

Position specific questions

· Reason for the need? <30% Vacancy and 100% at some FSED

· Is there a specific start date needed? ASAP

· Duration of need ? 6-12 MONTHS TO START

· What are expectations for orientation? (ie, shadow day? EMR training?) 2 DAYS SHADOW AND ONE DAY IT WITH IN HOUSE MEDSTAFF ORIENTATION

· Any specific fellowships/ certifications/ procedures/ competencies we are looking for? IM/FP/ABEM

· Experience level ? IF NOT ABEM MUST HAVE 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN ED.

Credentialing questions:

· Will emergency privileges be an option? NO

· Are case logs needed? If so, what are the requirements? YES TO DEMONSTRATE PROCEDURAL PROVISIONCIES

Hospital/unit questions

· Number of ER Bays? FSED = 12, MAIN OCCASIONALY = 80

· Number of Patients/Hour? 2-2.5 AT PEAK VOLUMES

· What’s the patient mix? FSED LOW TO MID ACUITY AND MAIN MID TO HIGH

· Trauma center designation? NONE

· Is there nurse/APP Triage for lower acuity? ONLY AT MAIN NOT AT FSED

· Shift lengths? (8, 10, 12) 12’S AT FSED

· AM and PM Shift Coverage Needed? YES BOTH

· Staffing Model: How many other EM Providers are on at the same time? SINGLE COVERAGE AT FSED, MULTI AT MAIN

· What does support staff include? Normal ER support staff

· ED Admission Rate? 8-10 AT FSED AND ABOUT 30% AT MAIN
