We're looking for a Software Developer to join our ever-evolving Heartland School Solutions Technology Team and help shape the future of global commerce. In this role, you'll help power secure, reliable payment experiences for K-12 schools and communities while driving the technology behind critical business and client solutions. Your work will directly influence how schools manage payments, connect systems, and deliver seamless experiences to families and administrators. • Build and enhance scalable web applications and APIs that deliver secure, reliable payment and school management experiences, helping clients operate more efficiently and confidently.
• Drive the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions by taking ownership from concept through deployment, ensuring business requirements are translated into measurable outcomes.
• Strengthen platform performance, stability, and maintainability through clean, secure, and well-documented code that supports long-term growth and operational excellence.
• Influence product and engineering outcomes by collaborating across teams, providing thoughtful code reviews, and championing best practices that improve quality, consistency, and development velocity.
• Resolve complex technical challenges and integration issues to improve user experiences, support business objectives, and ensure dependable delivery for clients and stakeholders.

• Experience developing and supporting software applications with a strong foundation in object-oriented programming, application design, and problem solving.
• Working knowledge of Java, Representational State Transfer (REST) APIs, and Structured Query Language (SQL) databases , with the ability to build reliable and effective technical solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, maintainable code and consistently deliver results in a collaborative development environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills , with the ability to partner effectively with engineers, quality assurance professionals, and business stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
• A growth mindset and sense of ownership , with a commitment to continuous improvement, learning new technologies, and delivering meaningful outcomes for clients and the business.

• Experience with payment processing platforms, financial technology solutions, or other high-transaction business environments.
• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks and libraries, including jQuery, as well as experience working with JavaScript-based user interfaces.
• Experience working with JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), Extensible Markup Language (XML), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), Agile Scrum methodologies, or Microsoft SQL Server technologies.
