Principal Project Manager

About the role:

As Principal Project Manager, you will be a project expert responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all aspects of supply chain projects to ensure delivery within scope and budget. You are the primary point of accountability for project success and coordinating teams within the Enterprise Supply Chain (ESC) Category Management Center of Excellence.

You will report to the Supply Chain Spend Management Supervisor, within the Enterprise Supply Chain (ESC) Category Management Center of Excellence .

This is a remote position.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Change Management

• Define scope, objectives, milestones, and success criteria; build integrated project plans (charter, WBS, schedule, RAIL log, Risk Register).
• Lead complex cross-functional projects from assessment through implementation, serving as the primary point of contact for assigned initiatives and ensuring objectives, timelines, deliverables, risks, actions, and stakeholder expectations are clearly managed.
• Use process reviews, partner feedback, and operational reporting to identify process gaps, root causes, initiative needs, and opportunities to improve efficiency, compliance, and results.
• Develop current-state and future-state process documentation, project plans, action trackers, and standardized best practices to support sustainable improvement.
• Present executive-ready updates including project status, key milestones, risks, decisions needed, financial or operational impacts, and recommended next steps.
• Facilitate project governance through weekly standups, monthly steering reviews, and gate approvals.
• Drive change management activities, including stakeholder alignment, communication planning, training, adoption tracking, reinforcement of new processes or tools, and clear messaging to impacted teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Category Management, Procurement, SIOP, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, APX, Logistics, Finance, IT, and our teams to understand requirements, align priorities, and drive improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate meetings, lead working sessions, and deliver executive-level presentations to align partners, communicate recommendations, summarize progress, and drive project execution.
• Bridge project teams, business stakeholders, and leadership by consolidating feedback, escalating issues, documenting decisions, and maintaining throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support system enhancements, process automation, and report improvements across departments.

Reporting & Business Support

• Translate business findings into clear insights, recommendations, and presentation-ready materials that support decision-making and stakeholder adoption.
• Review operational and financial information from multiple systems and sources to identify trends, risks, performance gaps, and new initiative opportunities.
• Develop and maintain ad hoc reports, recurring project updates, executive summaries, and presentation materials for leadership, executive teams, and partners.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field, supply chain, project management, finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred; equivalent related experience may be considered.
• 8+ years of experience in project management, business process improvement, change management with 2+ years leading supply chain projects.
• Experience driving change management efforts, managing scope, schedule, and project budget across multiple sites/functions.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, identifying risks, and driving enterprise-wide programs.
• Experience working with Category Management, Supply Chain, Operations teams, Finance, internal or external partners.
• Continuous improvement mindset and experience with process optimization.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, Lean or similar project certifications (in process or willing to get).

Westinghouse is committed to transparency and equity in all people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,300 to $129,000 per year.
