Utilities Manager

Job Summary At Danone, manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Utilities Manager based in Dallas, Texas . The Utilities Manager will work closely with Senior Plant Leadership and report directly to the Maintenance & Reliability Director. This position has a significant impact on the financial results for the site, as extensive capital is spent annually to support utilities across the network. Key Responsibilities Spend a significant portion of time at the manufacturing facilities for audits, follow‑ups, continuous improvement of utilities, and issue resolution. Assist in all engineering planning, energy and water conservation savings initiatives, and the planning and management of existing and future buildings and wastewater treatment plant facilities. Manage and coordinate sustainability activities and improvement initiatives across the site, including facilities design, WWTP design, expansion, equipment removal, construction planning, project engineering, facility management, process development, and technical support for corporate strategic projects. Provide guidance and direction to the site’s infrastructure, facilities, and wastewater teams. Communicate with regulatory officials as required to maintain discharge permits and provide technical support such as negotiating permit conditions. Supervise the budget of conducted projects in terms of responsibility. Promote a culture of safety, quality mindset, and desired behaviors across the site. Observe and analyze building energy performance, conduct detailed analysis of facility energy use and costs, identify and execute smart energy and energy‑efficiency projects, and manage stakeholder relationships to ensure project success and profitability. Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, hand use, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting, smelling, talking, and hearing. Ability to bend and stoop at waist level and bend, twist neck and head. Regular repetitive lifting of 10–50 lbs, occasional lifting above 50 lbs. Normal range of hearing and vision (including color) required for record‑keeping and communication. Standing on a concrete surface for 2–4 hrs per shift, up to 12 hrs on occasion. Occasional stair or ladder climbing. Work in an environment with moderate noise and temperature variations. Work up to 12‑hour shifts; schedules may include nights, weekends, and holidays to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Engagement in Our Integrated Work Systems Ensure adherence to plant standards and procedures—including GMP, FDA, ISO, and Danone Behaviors—and participate in the implementation and deployment of the IWS system and its pillars: Leadership Foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE, Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Focused Improvement, Education & Training, Environmental Health & Safety, Quality, Organization, Supply Network, and Early Equipment Management. Own performance metrics such as Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, and Continuous Improvement. Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (required). 5+ years of experience managing utility systems—including Ammonia/Refrigeration, Boiler, Electrical, Compressed Air (required). Preferred experience with HVAC, Security/Alarm Systems, and Wastewater; prior manufacturing environment experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Basic knowledge of regulations and standards affecting PMO and FDA‑regulated products. Computer proficiency in MS Office (Excel), CMMS systems (required); experience with AutoCAD and Smartsheets preferred. Demonstrated experience with energy audits, leading energy audits, and reporting in a manufacturing facility. Ability to identify savings opportunities based on energy data and analytics. Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Support and develop project business cases. Highly self‑directed, able to work independently and as part of a team. Organized and self‑disciplined to manage concurrent multiple projects. Conflict resolution and interpersonal skills. Fast learner adaptable to change. Fully developed written and presentation skills.
