Pay: Up to $24.72/hour, depending on experience. Please note: Candidates cannot have previously worked for Stony Brook Health. Candidates cannot have applied to Stony Brook Health within the last 12 months.Responsibilities:Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls professionallyPerform patient check-in/check-out using EMR systemsVerify patient demographics and insurance informationObtain patient signatures and ensure completion of required paperworkCollect and process patient paymentsCoordinate patient flow and communicate delays or scheduling updatesSchedule appointments, procedures, and additional servicesObtain referrals, authorizations, and eligibility verifications as neededMaintain office supply inventory and communicate ordering needsEnsure HIPAA compliance at all timesProvide occasional evening/weekend coverage when neededQualifications:High School Diploma or GED requiredGraduate of an accredited Medical Office Administration program ORMinimum 6 months of Medical Receptionist experience OR1 year of clerical experienceProficiency with Microsoft OfficeStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environmentProfessional phone etiquette and attention to detailSelf-motivated and dependableThis is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to gain experience within a respected healthcare organization with long-term potential.
