Platform Engineer / Production Operations (ProdOps) Engineer

Location: Las Vegas, NV – Fully Onsite from Day 1

Bill Rate: $60/hr

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Platform Engineer / Production Operations (ProdOps) Engineer to manage, support, and improve mission-critical production platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, database deployments, application troubleshooting, Dynatrace monitoring, and production support. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring platform stability, automating operational processes, improving deployment efficiency, monitoring system performance, and responding to critical production incidents in a 24x7 environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Operations & Support
  • Provide operational support for production and non-production environments.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and respond to critical production incidents.
  • Monitor system health, application performance, and infrastructure availability.
  • Troubleshoot complex application, database, infrastructure, and deployment issues.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
  • Manage incident and problem resolution to minimize customer and business impact.
• CI/CD & Release Management
  • Design, maintain, and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Configure and manage GitLab Runners.
  • Automate application build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
  • Implement deployment best practices to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve DevOps and release processes.
  • Support release coordination, rollback strategies, and production deployments.
• Kubernetes Platform Management
  • Deploy, configure, and manage containerized applications on Kubernetes.
  • Troubleshoot Kubernetes pods, services, ingress, and cluster-level issues.
  • Manage application scaling, availability, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests.
  • Monitor Kubernetes workloads and resolve platform-related issues.
• Database Deployment & PostgreSQL
  • Plan and execute database deployments across development, test, and production environments.
  • Support database schema changes, migrations, and rollback procedures.
  • Troubleshoot database connectivity and performance issues.
  • Support and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
  • Assist with backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability configurations.
  • Ensure database security and compliance standards are maintained.
