Medical ICU Registered Nurse

This position requires a minimum of 1.5 years of ICU experience. The unit provides care for both ICU and progressive care patients. A nurse-to-patient ratio is maintained at 1:3 for progressive care patients and 1:2 or 1:3 for ICU patients. The role involves caring for ventilated patients and initiating and titrating IV drips, including vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics. Assistance with intubations and line placements is also required. Monitoring critically ill patients with primary diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, myocardial infarctions, pulmonary embolism, and pneumonia is essential. Nurses will utilize equipment including heart monitors, electronic medical records, and EKG machines. Nurses will float to all ICU, progressive care, and medical-surgical units. Travelers will care for both progressive and ICU patients, with more frequency in the progressive care setting. The dress code requires Caribbean blue scrubs, with jackets in black, white, or Caribbean blue. Onboarding includes review of policies and training for the electronic medical record system.
