• Department: Surgical Specialties
• Schedule: Full time, 38.75 hrs./ week- Monday - Friday 7:30a- 5:00p

Under general supervision as a Team Lead, coordinates the daily support operations of a single clinical area or group. Primarily acts as a Medical Assistant and performs the full duties associated with this role. Is a resource for other support staff and may fill in for staff as needed to provide appropriate coverage of the department. Takes lead role in ensuring department workflow is of a high quality. Primary Responsibilities:

• Serves as a skilled clinical/administrative support resource for team members
• Assumes leadership duties while performing nonexempt support tasks
• Evaluates daily schedules and ensures coverage during absences
• Implements and adjusts operational procedures within established guidelines
• Guides staff on workflow execution and suggests improvements
• Supports performance reviews and monitors service quality (e.g., phone systems)
• Acts as point of contact for patient issues and may supervise in manager's absence

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit
• Experience typically acquired through 2+ years in a clinical setting with 1+ years as a Medical Assistant (a bachelor's or associate degree may be substituted for one year of experience). In depth knowledge of specialty's area
• Proven solid interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and medical professionals
• Proven sound judgment with the ability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) is solidly preferred if the job is in a patient-facing clinical capacity
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty
