Pharmacy Technician - Vinton, Virginia

Support innovative at-home chronic care management as a skilled Pharmacy Technician III in a dynamic mail order pharmacy setting. This contract role offers the chance to apply your expertise in prescription processing within a patient-centered environment.


Location: Vinton, VA
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately interpret sig codes and select appropriate pharmacy products for prescription refills
• Perform comprehensive data entry, verify insurance coverage, and resolve claim rejections efficiently
• Prepare, label, and package medications in compliance with pharmacist guidelines
• Maintain pharmacy inventory, perform cycle counts, and manage medication returns
• Handle inbound and outbound communications with patients and prescribers professionally
• Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and organizational policies

Desired Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of 4 years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Active Pharmacy Technician license for Virginia and current PTCB certification
• Excellent communication skills, strong multitasking abilities, and effective time management
