Structural Steel Fabrication Foreman

Foremen must be able to maintain production without deviating from established quality standards. Must lead by example while maintaining excellent communication between Management and teams to ensure that the production schedule is met.

General Expectations and Responsibilities

• Follow ADF safety procedures and practices.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor the team’s work activities and progress daily.
• Maintain the quality of work produced by the team.
• Regularly inspect the team’s work to eliminate deviations from quality standards.
• Participate in new-hire orientations as needed.
• Ensure that safety standards and regulations are respected.
• Interact/meet with your team regularly to provide guidance and updates.
• Enforce disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Direct the flow of materials, log locations, and progress.
• Must be motivated, adhere to strict deadlines, and have a zero-loss mindset.
• Report and coordinate equipment repairs and inspections.
• Any other related duties or special projects as needed.

Education, Training, or Work Experience

• High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
• Excellent blueprint comprehension skills.
• Ability to learn on the go and apply newfound knowledge as necessary.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• 5 years supervision and planning experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
• Industry certifications from AWS or CWB preferred.
• Proficient with GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes.
• Knowledge of AWS, AISC, and CWB code standards.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand/walk for 10 hours at a time.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel for varying lengths of time.
• Ability to fully articulate shoulder, elbow, hand, and wrist.
• Must be able to grasp and safely operate hand and power tools.
• Must be able to occasionally push, pull, lift, pull, or carry up to 75lbs.
• Must be able to work in various conditions (loud, hot, dusty, cold, etc.).
• Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend on ladder.

Foremen may occasionally be required to drive to another location, therefore a valid driver’s license is necessary
