Staff AI Engineer

Job Overview:


We are looking for a Staff AI Engineer with strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience building production AI applications . The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in at least one cloud platform, preferably AWS , along with strong experience in Python, AI/LLMs, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native development .


The role will focus on building scalable backend services, AI-powered applications, agentic workflows, and distributed systems supporting media and content workflows.


Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain scalable backend Microservices using Python and FastAPI .
• Design and deploy applications using AWS, Azure, and/or GCP , with strong depth in at least one cloud environment.
• Build event-driven and serverless applications using services such as EventBridge, queues, and DynamoDB Streams.
• Develop and integrate LLM-powered applications and AI agents .
• Build tools, guardrails, and deterministic functions that enable AI agents to create or modify visual assets.
• Integrate AI models hosted on owned infrastructure and third-party AI endpoints.
• Design complex distributed workflows for high-volume job orchestration and dispatching.
• Use Terraform/IaC to provision and manage cloud resources across multiple environments.
• Develop robust unit and end-to-end tests for APIs and AI-generated outputs.
• Participate in architecture, design, code reviews, Agile/Scrum ceremonies, and daily engineering workflows.
• Collaborate with Engineering, QA, product, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.
• Develop highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant architectures.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in modern Python .
• Hands-on production experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP .
• Strong experience building production AI/LLM applications .
• Practical experience integrating LLMs into software applications , including inference endpoints, context windows, and AI-generated content parsing.
• Strong experience with event-driven applications and distributed systems .
• Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Experience building and operating backend APIs/microservices .
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, version control, testing, and code review.
• Experience working in an Agile environment .
• Strong understanding of AI engineering trends and best practices .
• Strong experience with the C4 model and traditional architecture/design artifacts.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• AWS - 5+ years preferred.
• Azure - 1+ year preferred.
• Python, Java, Golang, or JavaScript.
• FastAPI .
• AWS EventBridge, queues, DynamoDB Streams.
• AI Agents and AI orchestration.
• Distributed systems and serverless architecture.
• Terraform.
• CI/CD.
• Multimodal AI, computer vision, generative image models, or vision-language models.
• Experience with broadcast production, video content management, media management, or content distribution workflows.
• Experience with AI guardrails and deterministic functions.
• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Ability to clearly explain their technical decisions, architecture, and personal contributions.
• Experience operating AI systems in production, including quality, reliability, latency, cost, and monitoring .

Note: Strong software engineering fundamentals and practical production AI experience are more important than simply having an advanced AI/ML title.
