Position Summary Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing. Full-time faculty position in the Robert E. Smith School of Nursing & Health Sciences. Responsibilities: Teach 50% in undergraduate and/or graduate nursing programs. Conduct 50% administrative duties as Chair for the Robert E. Smith School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Work directly with students, faculty, staff, program coordinators, and university colleagues. Oversee the operations of academic programs (Counselor Education, Nursing, Speech & Hearing, and Social Work). Coordinate curricular planning, implementation, evaluation and revise as needed for all academic programs. Collect and analyze data to promote excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and practice. Assist with accreditation requirements for the academic programs of Counselor Education, Nursing, and Social Work. Qualifications: Hold a doctorate degree in nursing or a graduate degree in nursing and a doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution. Unencumbered current license to practice in Mississippi or hold a multistate license from another NLC state. Hold a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification [preferred]. Satisfactory criminal background check. Minimum five (5) years of experience in a registered nursing education program to include teaching, curriculum development, and program evaluation. Hold leadership, management, and/or administrative experience in the discipline of nursing. Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience.
