Program Specialist, SELPA

The Program Specialist, SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area) provides consultation, coaching, one-to-one assistance and group presentations; classroom support; instructional and behavioral strategies for regular education and special education teachers, resource specialists, designated instruction and services personnel and others providing instructional services to children and adolescents with disabilities; has specialized knowledge in preschool disabilities, career/vocational development or one or more areas of major disabling conditions; and must have advanced training and related experience in the education of individuals with exceptional needs.

Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Valid California Clear Special Education Teaching -or- Pupil Personnel Services - School Psychology Services -or- Speech Language Pathology Services or Clinical Rehabilitative Services Language, Speech and Hearing Credential; Possession of a valid California Administrative Services Credential or Certificate of Eligibility in Administrative Services; Master's degree in Special Education or a related area from a regionally accredited college or university; Three (3) years of experience teaching special education or providing special education related services; Experience planning and presenting staff development activities.
