Actuarial Analyst

Position Summary Aetna Resources, LLC., a CVS Health company, is hiring in Woonsocket, RI for an Actuarial Analyst to support actuarial functions by applying quantitative skills and analytical methods to well‑defined projects. Responsibilities Develop quantitative techniques to inform pricing and valuation for assigned projects, large group customers, and the overall financial portfolio. Apply mathematical and statistical methods to analyze data for studies, valuation, and pricing projects in support of the business. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Underwriting, Sales, and Accounts on large, complex new business and renewal cases. Leverage Excel, SAS, and other technical options to efficiently complete projects. Demonstrate spreadsheeting proficiency and familiarity with database and web‑based applications. Complete studies used for assumption setting in pricing models and maintain financial analytic models. Contribute to product development and re‑pricing initiatives and apply knowledge of current pricing models and risk management practices. Work on special projects that require actuarial research and analysis in partnership with business teams both in and out of finance and support underwriting issues. Develop experience‑analysis reviews, produce summary reports of financial results, and communicate results, trends, and issues to management with proactive recommendations. Continuously build specialized knowledge of company operations, systems, and the actuarial discipline. Assess established training and work processes to identify areas for improved effectiveness and efficiency. Take ownership of assigned projects and/or models, tools, and propose improvements as appropriate. Provide input into decision‑making processes. Demonstrate basic understanding and working knowledge of internal data sources. Develop creative technical solutions to a variety of problems. Support development and implementation of appropriate tools and models. Maintain and enhance processes, tools, and suggest efficiency maximization. Participate in development and finalization of business requirements and specifications for processes, tools, and systems. Participate in testing of changes to processes, tools, and systems. Participate in multi‑functional workgroups. Respond to routine inquiries from internal constituents in a clear and professional manner. Create and maintain accurate documentation of tools and processes. Requirements Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Economics or related field. Six (6) months of experience in each of the following: Excel; SAS or SQL programming. Completion of three (3) Actuarial Exams recognized by the Society of Actuaries (SOA). Pay Range $77,646.00/year to $96,575.00/year. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
