This includes continuous service improvement through the modernization of IT system infrastructure.CACI is looking for an experienced, innovative, and motivated Database Specialist to support the mission objectives and needs of the customer, the Defense Intelligence Agency. As our Database Specialist, you will play a critical role in sustaining reliable, resilient, and high‑performance database services across globally distributed, mission‑critical environments. Acting as a key member of a global, 24/7 operations team, you will maintain operational ownership of enterprise database services, ensuring stability, availability, and rapid recovery across multiple networks and security domains. You will deploy, configure, and operate database solutions; monitor performance and service health; execute backup and recovery operations; implement security controls; support customer DBAs and application teams; and participate in testing and fielding activities for new engineered capabilities.The position is contingent upon award of the DIA SITE III CIO Infrastructure Services (CIS) contract.Responsibilities:Deploy, operate, and maintain engineered and tested database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Database, and other relational database platformsConfigure and support highly available and clustered database architectures aligned with DR and COOP requirementsMonitor database performance, capacity, availability, and service‑level indicators to identify trends, prevent incidents, and ensure optimal user experiencePerform Tier 2 troubleshooting, incident analysis, and break/fix support across all assigned database systems and environments.Execute scheduled and ad hoc maintenance, patching, updates, and upgrades within authorized change windowsManage database access controls, role assignments, permissions, and delegated administrationConduct backup, restoration, and data‑migration operations for both standalone and clustered database environmentsSupport stakeholder DBAs and mission application teams by configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting database connectivity and performanceEnforce security and encryption policies for data at rest and in transit across all database systemsAnalyze requirements, concepts of operations, and architectures to ensure deployed database solutions meet availability, reliability, and resiliency objectivesCollaborate with Engineering teams and Government stakeholders to refine database-operability and service requirementsWork independently or in small teams to perform updates, upgrades, maintenance, and operational tasks across multiple networks and security domainsContribute to Beta testing, Acceptance testing, and Blue/Green fielding strategies for new engineered solutionsCoordinate with Tier 3 and Engineering resources for advanced troubleshooting and remediation effortsUtilize Lab facilities for incident investigation, design validation, and feasibility testing of database enhancementsDevelop test cases and scripts to ensure complete test coverage for database components prior to deploymentProduce SOPs, knowledge base artifacts, documentation, and compliance materials that support operational activitiesProvide continuous patch management across designated systemsProvide information and coordination for approved POA&Ms and other compliance artifactsParticipate in Continual Service Improvement (CSI) efforts and evaluate emerging technologies for potential enhancement of database servicesQualifications:Required:Must hold a current Top Secret SCI clearance with ability to obtain poly prior to startDOD 8140 Certification applicable to role (minimum Security+)Microsoft Certified SQL Server Engineer, Microsoft Certified Azure Database Engineer, Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate, IBM Db2 Database Associate, or equivalentAn AA and 10+ years of experience, BS/BA and 8+ years of experience, MS/MA and 6+ years of experience, or PhD and 4+ years of experienceMinimum of 4 years of hands-on experience integrating, operating, and maintaining IT hardware and software solutionsExperience supporting relational database platforms in operational environments, including troubleshooting, tuning, patching, monitoring, backup/restore, and data‑migration activitiesExperience implementing and maintaining clustered or highly available database architecturesExperience performing Tier 2 support in multi‑network, multi‑domain operational environmentsDesired:Degree in Science, Technology, or EngineeringExperience supporting mission environments with 24/7 operational requirementsExperience performing Acceptance testing, DR/COOP integrations, and Blue/Green deployment activitiesExperience working in lab environments to validate designs, test new configurations, and perform root‑cause analysisExperience collaborating with engineers, technical writers, and Government stakeholders on documentation and operational requirementsExperience supporting database‑driven mission applications and coordinating with customer DBAsITIL 4 Foundation Certification-What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity.At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
