Line Cook

Role Description The Line Cook role at DoubleTree by Hilton in Sunrise, FL is a full-time, on-site position focused on preparing high-quality dishes that align with brand standards and guest expectations. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting up and stocking stations, preparing ingredients, cooking and plating menu items, and maintaining consistent food quality and presentation. The Line Cook follows recipes, portion controls, and food safety procedures, while keeping the kitchen area clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations. This role collaborates with other kitchen and restaurant team members to ensure timely service, supports inventory and waste control, and may assist with special events or banquets as needed. Qualifications Culinary skills in basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and plating, with an understanding of standard recipes and portion control. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, including proper storage, temperature control, and cleanliness in a commercial kitchen. Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tickets, maintain station readiness, and support smooth kitchen operations. Ability to work collaboratively on a kitchen line, communicate clearly with team members, and maintain a positive, professional demeanor under pressure. Prior experience as a line cook or in a similar back-of-house role in hotels, restaurants, or hospitality settings is preferred. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as required by hotel operations. Culinary training or certification is beneficial; a high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
