Registered Nurse

Overview Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) under the guidance of the Plasma Center Manager and the Center Physician to support plasma center operations. The role includes determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and EHS guidelines. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements. Conduct physical examinations, blood testing, and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) results. Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of the Center Physician's standing orders and coordination of emergency care transport. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings, donor safety and eligibility concerns. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable. Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance as needed. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Current licensure or certification in the state of assignment: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Minimum two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Compensation & Benefits Hourly wage range: $33.44 – $45.98 (dependent on qualifications, experience, and location).
