Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:


To control and monitor all phases of packing and transporting of finished materials


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Visually inspecting materials and products for any damage or defects


• Verifying information on product and shipping documentation


• Unloading inbound materials and stacking in the proper area


• Transporting materials to designated workstations


• Loading outbound materials


• Operate equipment such as up-enders and wrappers


• Ability to operate a forklift


• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies


• Meet production standards and adhere to all company policies and safety regulations


• A high degree of attention is required to prevent injuries


• Maintain proper housekeeping to ensure a safe and orderly work environment


• Help contribute to the team culture and continuous improvement


• Other duties as assigned


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma/GED
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time
• Adhere to health and safety regulations
• Teamwork and communication skills


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in manufacturing
• Knowledge in production procedures
• Handle heavy equipment
• Forklift experience (1 year)

• Problem-solving: Demonstrates the ability to identify and resolve issues that may arise during forklift operations, such as finding alternative routes for navigation, troubleshooting minor equipment malfunctions, and making quick decisions to ensure the smooth operation of the forklift. Ability to maneuver a vehicle in tight spaces, lift and transport heavy loads, and follow operating procedures.
• Accountability: Takes responsibility for their actions, including any mistakes or errors made while operating the forklift, and works towards finding solutions to rectify them.
• Honesty: Communicates truthfully and accurately about work-related matters, such as incidents, equipment issues, and performance feedback.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
• Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail bending and stooping
• Regularly required to walk, stand, and talk or hear
• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
• Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Occasional reaching with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Regularly lift 10 pounds
• Occasionally required to lift 50 pounds
• Regularly apply reasoning
• Use muscles to lift, push, pull or carry objects
• Must have stamina to work 12-hour shifts
