ROLE IS HYBRID ONSITE IN THE GREATER SEATTLE AREA, WA

$25-$31/hr, $4,224-$5,456/month COMPENSATION RATE (depending on experience)

The company is a large airline company in the Greater Seattle Area.

SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST

About the Role:

Were looking for a Social Media Specialist to keep our channels running and our community engaged. Youll manage the day-to-day conversation with our guests, keep content publishing on time, and help the team stay organized. Youll also create content, from quick-turn trend responses to planned posts. Most of your work will be based in the Pacific Northwest, with occasional opportunities to travel for production.

What Youll Do:

Community Management

• Monitor and respond to comments, DMs, and mentions in brand voice
• Flag customer issues, emerging conversations, and potential risks to the right teams
• Surface community insights and recurring themes to inform content and strategy

Social Operations

• Publish and schedule content across Alaskas social channels
• Help build and maintain the social content calendar, tracking deadlines, approvals, and assets
• Coordinate with the social and influencer team and cross-functional partners to keep content moving on time
• Keep assets organized and accessible after shoots and launches

Content Creation

• Shoot, edit, and produce short-form video, photo, and copy for social, from same-day trend responses to planned content
• Stay fluent in social trends, sounds, and formats, and bring that knowledge back to the team

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills:

• Required: Community management experience, ideally for a consumer brand
• Hands-on experience with social publishing
• Highly organized; comfortable juggling real-time conversation, quick-turn requests, and planned work
• Sharp copywriting instincts and a natural ear for brand voice
• Sound judgment on when to respond, when to escalate, and when to stay quiet
• Portfolio showing social content youve created and published
• Shooting and editing skills (Premiere, CapCut, or similar)
• Comfortable with occasional travel
• Preferred: Photography or motion graphics experience
• Airline, travel, or loyalty program experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Duration: 11/1 to start, to run for 6 months, with chance to extend.

Location: Role is mainly based in Seattle, WA, with some onsite work in SeaTac, WA, although some travel will be involved.

Daily Schedule: M-F, 40 hours a week, no OT anticipated.

Hardware: Client will provide.

Role Requirements: Client requires a background test & a drug screen before start.

Submittal Requirements: Candidates must provide an impressive portfolio showing social content youve created and published.
