Quality Control Coordinator Full Time Lake Charles, LA, US 15 days ago Requisition ID: 1086 Louisiana Bridge Builders (“LBB”) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street. POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY The Quality Control Coordinator is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by coordinating, documenting, and reporting quality activities for the Project. LOCATION This position is based in Lake Charles, LA. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Participate in the preparation of Project Quality Management System documents. Ensure quality documentation and required records for the Project are accurate and up to date. Assist in field verification activities for materials and works performed using the company’s tracking software. Assist in ensuring that quality requirements are implemented by subcontractors. Compile comprehensive reports detailing quality performance, highlighting trends, and suggesting corrective actions and lessons learned. Collaborate in the digitization of quality records. Conduct training activities on the quality management system for the project team. Participate in audits carried out on the Project Quality Management System. Oversee and perform site inspections and enforce standards. Monitor, verify and generate daily reports on the progress and performance of contractor activities. Maintain an active role in providing relevant information to continually improve procedures, Work Plans, and QC efforts. Perform off‑site quality inspections at the Owners/suppliers/manufacturer’s yard/shop as needed. Participate in the analysis of corrective and preventive actions and, in general, identify and record any incidents related to the Quality Plans and Quality Procedures. Report quality issues associated with construction and track deficiencies/non‑conformances. Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, & SKILLS FOR SUCCESS Effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, vendors, etc. Use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) and adapt to changes in programs and processes. Work as a team member and independently to reach goals. Embrace change while encouraging innovative approaches. Function effectively as a team player and collaborator. Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed. Perform on‑site inspections in outdoor areas. Maintain a current and valid driver’s license. QUALIFICATIONS At a minimum, the Quality Control Coordinator must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study with 3+ years of related quality experience or a high school diploma (or equivalent) with 7+ years of related quality experience. A valid and current driver’s license is also required. Experience with Design‑Build projects and/or the construction industry is preferred. Knowledge and experience with the ISO 9001 standard implementation on Quality Management Systems is required. Experience in implementing digital quality management and control tools will be valued.
