The role of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is remote, giving you the flexibility to work from home while reaching out to clients through virtual platforms. Your work schedule will typically be Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., which allows for a balanced work-life dynamic. Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients to evaluate the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms, such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety.

  • Collaboratively create personalized treatment plans that align with individual client goals, preferences, and clinical best practices.

  • Employ evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to address specific client needs.

  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies to equip them with necessary coping skills.

  • Monitor client progress systematically and adapt treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations and outcomes.

  • Engage in collaboration with psychiatrists, medical professionals, and other therapists to provide integrated and holistic care for clients.

  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatments to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.

  • Maintain precise and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring the integrity of client information.

  • Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your therapeutic skills and knowledge.

  • Advocate for clients by addressing mental health stigmas and working to fulfill their emotional and treatment needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on supporting clients who are experiencing mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related conditions. You will also engage with specific populations such as the homeless, refugees, and domestic abuse survivors, providing tailored support that addresses their unique situations and emotional needs. Your patient-centered approach will be critical in fostering trust and rapport with clients who may have varying degrees of vulnerability.

Qualifications\n

  • A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) .

  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.

  • A demonstrated capacity for empathy and a nonjudgmental approach toward clients’ experiences and challenges.

  • Experience working with individuals facing mood disorders, especially in community health settings.
