CNC Machinist

Position: CNC Machinist Location: Lithia Springs/Fulton Industrial Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM | Overtime opportunities on Fridays Pay: DOE Job Type: Temp-to-hire Job Summary We are hiring a CNC Machinist for a client in the Lithia Springs/Fulton Industrial area. This role involves setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machining equipment - including Haas and Mazak machines - in a production manufacturing environment. Prior CNC experience is preferred; the client is willing to train qualified candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machining centers, including Haas and Mazak equipment
- Produce parts to engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and production schedules
- Load and unload raw materials and finished components
- Perform machine adjustments and tool offsets to maintain part quality and efficiency
- Select, install, and maintain cutting tools, fixtures, and special tooling
- Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments
- Monitor machine performance and identify issues affecting quality or productivity
- Maintain accurate production records and report status to supervisors
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all safety policies and quality procedures
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures
- Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn
- Previous CNC machining experience in a production manufacturing environment
- Experience operating Haas and/or Mazak CNC machines
- Experience with machine setups, tooling selection, and fixture changes
- Familiarity with special tooling and production optimization techniques
- Understanding of cutting speeds, feeds, and tool life management
