Pharmacy Tech - Richmond, Virginia

A dynamic role is available for a Certified Pharmacy Technician licensed in both Maryland and Virginia to operate as a traveling liaison between multiple healthcare facilities and a centralized pharmacy. This direct hire position is based in Richmond, VA, and involves frequent travel to facilities throughout Maryland and Virginia, including locations such as Alexandria, Fairfax, Richmond, Hampton, and Newport News.


Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with facility leadership and staff to serve as the primary communication link between assigned facilities and the pharmacy.
• Understand and address facility needs, collaborating closely with clinical services directors and pharmacy operations to enhance medication therapy and compliance.
• Respond promptly to client inquiries and resolve issues to ensure superior customer care.
• Identify service expansion opportunities and introduce new products tailored to client requirements.
• Conduct staff training and educational sessions on pharmacy and facility systems, as well as startups.
• Conduct monthly onsite visits, reporting, and ongoing performance improvement activities for assigned facilities.
• Ensure strict adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Assist with survey preparation, medication cart inspections, and medication pass observations as requested.
• Coordinate internally with pharmacy teams to provide seamless service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid pharmacy technician licenses for Virginia and Maryland are required.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is highly desired.
• Previous experience in long-term care pharmacy settings is preferred.
• Proficiency with pharmacy and medication distribution software such as EMAR, Medbank, and Frameworks is advantageous.
• Reliable transportation is necessary to accommodate frequent travel, which may include overnight stays.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, typically 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
• Occasional flexibility required for audits occurring later in the day.
• Rare weekend work.
