Stoughton Health has an outstanding opportunity for a dedicated, highly skilled Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our respected, fast-paced Orthopedic Practice on a full-time basis.

 

We are seeking an adaptable clinician with an exemplary work ethic and proven expertise in both complex operating room (OR) surgical assisting and high-volume outpatient clinic management. In this key role, you will work seamlessly alongside our orthopedic surgeons—providing comprehensive pre- and post-operative care, leading hospital rounding, conducting ambulatory clinic visits, and delivering patient-focused education from diagnosis through complete recovery.

Surgical & Clinical Expertise: Strong hands-on experience providing direct, skilled surgical assisting in the OR, managing busy ambulatory clinic schedules, and conducting thorough hospital rounds.

Location Flexibility: Willingness to travel between our Stoughton and Madison clinic locations to support our growing patient base.

 

Position Requirements:

• Required Education: Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
• Preferred Education: Master's Degree
• Professional Experience: Requires two years of relevant experience
• Licensure: Currently licensed by the Board of Licensing and Regulation in the State of Wisconsin
• Certification: Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants as a Physician Assistant. Current certification with the Drug Enforcement Administration. Current BLS certification at hire or within 90 days of hire.
• EPIC EHR competency skills are expected for this position.
• Basic computer competency skills are expected for this position
• Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Beginning Skills – Able to perform basic tasks such as opening a document, changing font, saving a document, and writing a letter.

Work Shift:

• Full Time, 1.0 FTE
• 4 Days Per Week
• 10-hour shifts
• PA Call Coverage Required: Weekly surgical and phone coverage rotation and a minimum of 1 weekend/month. Additional stipend paid.
