With over 3 decades of experience, we are dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive environment where individuals can cultivate and maintain their own sense of wellness through the power of education, communication, and engaging activities. We believe in fostering community ties and enhancing life skills through our various programs. Our services include no cost transportation, and we operate without insurance or identification requirements, ensuring that all individuals can access our services.As we continue to grow and expand our outreach, we are seeking a conscientious and reliable Peer Support Specialist to join our Manchester, NH location for up to 20 hours a week.ResponsibilitiesPlan and facilitate Peer Support Groups, activities, offer one-to-one support, and outreachAbility to accurately complete all required forms and reports in a timely mannerPerform work duties in a manner that aligns with company policy and proceduresCollaborate with team members to ensure seamless communication and workflowAbility to resolve issues of conflict, complaint, or incident using the principles of peer supportAttend meetings and organizational trainings as requiredWelcome guests, members, and vendors in a manner that supports a recovery communityAbility to work with diverse populations and accept differences in perspective and valuesAbility to be emotionally present and competent; recognize when you are not, seek support, and communicate this to a supervisorA commitment to confidentiality and understanding of mental health challengesWorking knowledge of Peer Support Code of Ethics and SAMHSA Core CompetenciesRequirementsBe 18 years or older and possess a High School diploma or GEDBe physically able to perform job-related dutiesProven experience as a group facilitator or similar experienceAbility to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational skills and attention to detailPaid or unpaid peer support experience preferredAbility to pass a Peer Support Specialist certification course (within 1 year)Knowledge gained by lived experience with the process of recovery from trauma, serious mental illness, and/or co-occurring Substance Use Disorder (SUD), and willingness to self-identify with peers on this basis in the communityBenefits12 paid holidaysPaid day off for employee's birthdayAll required training provided by organizationNo cost educational advancement opportunitiesNH Peer Support Specialist Training CourseRecovery Friendly WorkplaceApplicants can expect to be contacted within 2 - 3 business days of applying.
