The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of engineering tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Oakland, California.Accountabilities:Ensure the assessment of the Rail Vehicle Design in order to achieve full integration with other sub-systems and components; Ensure the monitoring of Rail vehicle production and testing process in order to control key factors affecting interfaces and system performances. Execute the Verification activities of Rail vehicle interface documents, according to the V&V PlanParticipate in onsite tests relevant to the vehicle Integration (e.g. advice to issue resolution)Contribute to the functional requirements fulfilment in Design and Testing phase and to the resolution of the interfaces among the sub-systems mainly involving vehicle providing detailed Required Skills:• 3- 5 years' experience in onboard equipment installation and testing of Rail vehicles. • Knowledge in onboard equipment installation and testing, in particular in electrical wiring, functional scheme review and mechanical installation.• Ability to work in a complex project and team-work skills.Education:Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology or Equivalent Technical BackgroundLanguages:English-Proficient In accordance with the DOT’s FRA and FTA programs, Hitachi’s substance screening program tests pre-employment candidates and current employees, as required for safety-sensitive positions.The salary range for this position is $112,000- $168,000 per year.
