Senior FreeCAD Engineer for AI Model Training [Remote]

Key Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD according to project specifications.
• Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies, applying best practices in assembly design and component integration.
• Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to ensure manufacturability and quality.
• Generate clear and precise technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.
• Conduct thorough engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings to identify and resolve issues.
• Utilize Python scripting for CAD automation tasks to streamline repetitive or complex modeling operations (highly preferred, not mandatory).
• Collaborate with team members by providing insightful feedback on model accuracy, design intent, and process improvements.

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, industrial engineering, or a related field with a focus on parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or equivalent parametric CAD platforms.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals, including GD&T and DFM best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to produce comprehensive technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
• Experience in conducting engineering QA and verifying model integrity and compliance with specifications.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills relevant to remote, project-based collaboration.

Contractor position with remote work flexibility.

Hourly rate ranging from $40 to $100.
