Senior Data Solutions Architect (Pre-Sales)

Salary - 180-200k with up to 15k in quarterly bonuses
Location - Hybrid in Seattle, Atlanta, or Dallas with 25% travel
Overview
We're looking for a customer-facing Data Solutions Architect who combines consulting, solution architecture, data engineering, and pre-sales experience.
This role works directly with clients to shape data modernization initiatives, design scalable architectures, and build rapid prototypes that validate technical solutions before delivery begins. The ideal candidate can bridge business strategy, data architecture, and hands-on implementation while helping clients unlock value from data, analytics, and AI.
What You'll Do
- Lead client discovery sessions, workshops, and solution design engagements.
- Partner with account teams to shape opportunities and influence deal strategy.
- Design modern cloud data platforms, analytics architectures, and AI-ready data foundations.
- Build rapid prototypes, proof-of-concepts, migration assessments, and reference architectures to demonstrate value.
- Create architecture recommendations, estimates, and modernization roadmaps.
- Support proposals, executive presentations, demos, and technical solutioning.
- Guide early implementation efforts to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
Required Experience
Data & Analytics Expertise
- 8-10+ years of experience in data consulting, data architecture, analytics engineering, or enterprise data transformation.
- Strong experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar modern data platforms.
- Expertise designing lakehouse, warehouse, and cloud-native analytics architectures.
- Experience supporting data engineering, governance, data quality, and large-scale modernization initiatives.
- Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Telecommunications, Retail/Consumer, or Technology environments.
Consulting & Pre-Sales
- Experience leading client discovery workshops and architecture discussions.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business challenges into scalable technical solutions.
- Experience building POCs, prototypes, demos, migration assessments, or accelerators to support sales opportunities.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Consulting experience strongly preferred.
Architecture & Engineering
- Strong cloud experience across Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Advanced SQL and Python skills.
- Experience with Spark, ETL/ELT frameworks, orchestration tools, and modern data integration patterns.
- Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Event Hubs.
- Understanding of AI/ML, GenAI, vector databases, and AI-ready data architectures.
- Ability to rapidly prototype pipelines, integrations, data models, and analytics solutions.
