Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Stem Cell Transplant/CAR-T unit requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• ICU unit specializing in Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T patients
• 15 rooms/beds with an average daily census of approximately 7
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Float required to Med/Surg
• Every third weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Pyxis medication system and Epic documentation
• SBAR communication method used

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required in hand, no pending licenses, EMSA not accepted
• BSN required
• 2 years of ICU experience required, 4 years preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA only, HeartCode not accepted)
• Chemotherapy certification required, in hand, no pending
• OCN certification preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Required skills: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, emergency medication administration, titration of cardiac drips, assisting with BiPAP/CPAP management, assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, care of ventilated patients, HFNC, interpretation of ABGs, suctioning (ETT, NT), ventilator management, infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, and phlebotomy
• Preferred skills: IV insulin protocols, accessing ports, starting IVs, CVA/acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, chemotherapy administration, and surgical wound care with drains/wound vac

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T patients
• 24-hour orientation on the floor
• Pewter scrubs required (not provided)
• No RTO permitted for 12/24-12/25 or 12/31-1/01
• Flu vaccine or signed declination form required during flu season (October-March)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 75-mile radius
• Travel pairs allowed
• Former employees will not be considered for travel positions
