Nurse Practitioner

Overview Red River Hospital is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our behavioral health team. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and clinical providers to deliver high-quality medical care to patients in a behavioral health setting. The NP will provide medical evaluations, treatment planning, medication management, and ongoing patient care while practicing within state licensure guidelines and under the supervision of the Medical Director/Physician. Facility Overview Facility: Red River Hospital CEO: Michele Middlesworth Facility Type: Behavioral Health Hospital Total Beds: 96 Average Daily Census: Approximately 70 patients Length of Stay: Typically 14-28 days, with some patients requiring longer treatment Position Type: Full-Time Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly Vacancies: 1 Key Responsibilities Conduct medical evaluations and provide treatment for behavioral health patients under physician supervision. Collaborate closely with medical and clinical staff to ensure comprehensive patient care. Prescribe medications, monitor treatment outcomes, and provide follow-up care in accordance with state NP practice regulations. Maintain accurate documentation and support quality patient outcomes in an inpatient behavioral health environment. Qualifications Licensed Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority. DEA Waiver Required. Experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, addiction medicine, or inpatient care preferred. Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills. Benefits 3 Personal Days Sick Leave Extended Sick Leave Bi-weekly Vacation Accrual Responsibilities Summary: Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. Participate in the formulation of patient Master Treatment Plan Assess physical and psychiatric health of patient and formulate measures to meet patient needs. Chart clinical observation (direct or through dictation), evaluations and treatment of patient in required time according to facility guidelines. Communicate with physicians and other staff as necessary to provide quality care for patient within appropriate guidelines. Encourage family involvement in patient care. Respond to identified patient and family educational needs. Support and follow legal requirements, hospital policy and procedures, medical staff bylaws and regulatory requirements. Provide services that are in accordance with the state guidelines for Nurse Practitioners. Provide on-call responsibilities on scheduled basis directed by medical staff. May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. May order, perform or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. May prescribe medication. Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority. Qualifications Qualifications: Master's in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner program required. Clinical experience working with the patient population of the facility; ability to demonstrate knowledge of concepts of limit setting, therapeutic boundaries, crisis management, therapeutic treatment, environment and patient care required. Minimum of 1 year experience as a Practicing Nurse Practitioner preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Board Certified Nurse Practitioner required.
