The Position

The Director of Global Supply Chain & Logistics provides strategic leadership,

operational oversight, and technical expertise across domestic and international supply

chain, logistics, procurement, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, inventory,

warehousing, and asset management. This leader will build the infrastructure, controls,

supplier relationships, contracting discipline, and reporting frameworks RYSR needs to

responsibly scale its global humanitarian impact.

This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role. Reporting directly to the CEO, the

Director will lead through influence, external partners, and cross-functional

collaboration while serving as RYSR's senior supply chain and logistics leader during

emergency response and field deployment.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate is a mission-centered supply chain and logistics leader who

combines global logistics, procurement, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiation

expertise with the calm judgment required in crisis. They can build scalable systems,

interpret complex regulations, source strategically, negotiate favorable contracts and

supplier terms, protect donor resources, and move quickly from strategy to execution.

This leader is rigorous without becoming bureaucratic, resourceful without

compromising controls, and decisive without losing sight of human dignity. They

understand that every shipment, supplier relationship, sourcing decision, contract,

inventory record, and customs decision ultimately affects whether help reaches people

when it

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute RYSR's global supply chain, logistics, procurement, strategic sourcing, contract management,
  • Establish scalable policies, standard operating procedures, internal controls, and performance reporting.
  • Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of ERP, procurement, and supply chain systems.
  • Oversee international freight, customs clearance, warehousing, transportation, and final-mile distribution.
  • Manage freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, warehouses, and other logistics partners.
  • Ensure compliance with export controls, sanctions, customs requirements, trade regulations, and 2 CFR Part 200.
  • Lead strategic and ethical sourcing, supplier identification and qualification, vendor due diligence, competitive bidding, and supplier selection.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, carriers, freight forwarders, brokers, warehouses, and other service partners, securing favorable terms, service levels, and risk protections.
  • Build a resilient global supplier network with geographic coverage, redundancy, and surge capacity.
  • Serve as senior logistics lead during emergency response and deploy when needed to establish or stabilize field operations.
  • Support rapid mobilization of medical, shelter, WASH, food, and other essential relief supplies.
  • Maintain audit-ready procurement, contracting, inventory, and logistics records.
  • Establish supplier performance, contract compliance, renewal, and risk management processes.
  • Develop safeguards that reduce fraud, corruption, diversion, sanctions, security, and third-party risk.
  • Design asset-tracking, inventory-control, warehouse safety, and chain-of-custody standards.
  • Develop logistics and procurement budgets, analyze spend, identify savings, and support grant projections.
  • Advise the CEO and executive leadership on supply chain strategy, sourcing, contract, risk, readiness, capacity, and investment priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, international development, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain, logistics, procurement, strategic sourcing, and contract management logistics and procurement experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in humanitarian aid, disaster response, or similarly complex operating environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end domestic and international supply chains, including freight, customs, warehousing, procurement, sourcing, contracting, and distribution.
  • Strong knowledge of federal grant procurement requirements, including 2 CFR 200.
  • Deep understanding of international customs, export controls, sanctions, and trade regulations.
  • Proven leadership, financial stewardship, budget management, spend analysis, strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contract negotiation experience.
  • Experience with ERP, procurement, inventory, or supply chain technology.
  • Ability and willingness to deploy to disaster or conflict-affected environments when required.

Preferred Experience

  • Professional certification such as CSCP, CPSM, or CILT.

  • Experience building supply chain, logistics, procurement, sourcing, and contract management infrastructure within a growing or evolving organization.

Salary Range: $100,000 and over
