Asset Protection Officer

Pay The starting and full hourly pay for this position is $20.50 to $22.50. Total pay can reach up to $34.85 based on market, education, experience and certifications. Responsibilities Lead a security culture, crisis response, safety environment, crowd management and support guests and team members. Implement daily and weekly assets protection workload priorities and deliver on business goals. Respond to theft incidents, prevent future theft, and apprehend offenders following Target policy. Partner with store leaders on operational shortage priorities, shortfall reduction and profitable sales. Lead a team of hourly members: interview, hire, train, evaluate and retain talent. Review guest, financial and team outcome metrics to identify improvement opportunities and drive results. Assure product availability, support emergency preparedness, create security plans for in‑store events. Maintain budgets for merchandise protection devices and reporting. Support law‑enforcement and district leaders, maintain relationships, and protect Target’s reputation. All other duties as required. Qualifications Minimum 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent. Previous retail or loss prevention experience preferred (not required). Ability to lead and hold others accountable. Effective communication on multiple frequency devices, handheld scanners and other technology. Work independently and within a team, manage workload and prioritize tasks. Mobile throughout shift; may lift or move up to 40 pounds. Flexible for variable schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and peak shopping times. Read, interpret instructions, reports and information. Climb ladders and apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy. Strong customer service orientation and welcoming attitude.
