The Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to join our Sport Medicine Team in Prescott, Arizona. This is a full-time, 10-month position reporting directly to the Director of Sports Medicine. In this role, you will work closely with the team physicians, coaches and athletics staff to support the health, safety and success of our student-athletes. Job Responsibilities Include:

• Work under the supervision of the Director of Sports Medicine and be responsible for the following: prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses, evaluation of athletic injuries, treatment of athletic injuries, providing education and counseling to student-athletes about their injury/illness.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the athletic training room.
• Provides athletic training coverage for assigned men's and women's teams, including practices, competitions and team travel as needed.
• Participates in inventory management of supplies
• Documents and maintains student-athlete PHI (i.e. physicals, injury reports, rehabilitation, etc.) into EMR.
• Maintains appropriate communication with the Director of Sports Medicine, student-athletes, coaches, and physicians.
• Maintains appropriate communication and attends meetings within the Department of Athletics.
• Obtains, creates and maintains an athletic calendar of events.
• Will coordinate and maintain records for athletic physical examinations for student-athletes.
• Develops, communicates and enforces Embry Riddle Athletic Training Policy & Procedures for athletes.
• This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on team practices and competition schedules.
• Must possess a valid driver's license for transportation of team in vans and the ability to travel for team practices and competition.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Remain in good standing with the NATA and BOC
• Eligible for Arizona Athletic Trainer's Licensure

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology/health education, sports medicine or a related field.
