Technology Support Lead - Software Optimization

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We need at least 7 years of experience managing software assets across on-premises, SaaS, and/or public cloud environments.
• We require a strong grasp of software license metrics and contract terminology, including entitlements, usage rights, restrictions, and audit provisions within Software Asset Management.
• We expect experience reading, interpreting, and operationalizing software license agreements and related contract terms.
• We look for hands-on experience with SAM tools such as USU/Aspera, Flexera, SNOW, or SamPro.
• We value familiarity with software discovery tools such as ADDM, SCCM, or Altiris, and/or inventory and CMDB systems.
• We need experience with license harvesting and/or large-scale end-user surveys.
• We expect a self-starter mindset with initiative and a proactive approach to solving problems.
• Strong organizational ability and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are important.

• We manage software licensing, contracts, and inventory, including interpreting licensing models, terms, and contract structures from major vendors and other publishers.
• We create and present software compliance reporting with trends and insights to support cost control, audit readiness, and ongoing compliance.
• We maintain accurate software and contract records across traditional repositories and modern license management systems, monitoring changes and their downstream effects.
• We perform internal compliance audits to reconcile entitlements against deployments and consumption across physical, virtual, SaaS, and third-party cloud environments.
• We partner with software product owners to shape strategy and optimize usage ahead of renewals and contract negotiations to avoid unnecessary spend.
• We project manage contract renewal activity across involved teams, assign deadlines, and follow up to keep work moving forward.
• We maintain high data quality for the products and contracts we own, operating with a data-owner mindset.
• We apply financial awareness to forecasting and budget planning.
• We identify and resolve license gaps when usage exceeds contractual entitlements, coordinating with product owners, Vendor Management, Sourcing, and Legal as needed.
• We work with the Software Discovery team to ensure discovery tools accurately and comprehensively capture software usage for assigned publishers.
• We own publisher-facing licensing items for assigned vendors and drive the best possible outcomes for internal customers.
