Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Colorado license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <75 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Vaya Workforce Solutions - University of Colorado (UCH) and no current placement allowed at Program: Vaya Workforce Solutions - University of Colorado (UCH).

Additional Details:

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Teaching hospital experience is required. First-time travelers accepted if they have teaching hospital experience. Must be comfortable with and have prior experience working in environments with flexible staffing ratios.

Special Requests: 10 RTO days max approved. RTO is not allowed during the following time periods: June 28- July 9, 2026, September 2 – September 12, 2026, October 25 – November 4, 2026. Flexibility may be considered for harder-to-fill positions.

Unit Details: Adult surgical oncology patient population. Ratios may flex up based on staffing and unit needs. Majority of procedures and diagnoses are related to the abdomen or pelvic area, including gynecologic oncology, urology oncology, colorectal, pancreatic, liver, and stomach cases. This unit primarily cares for patients with a known cancer diagnosis recovering post-operatively from surgical interventions needed to manage their disease process or complications. Nursing care focuses on achieving specific post-op milestones for discharge. No chemotherapy or biotherapy is administered on this unit.

Shift & Scheduling: Rotating day and night 3x12 shifts: 7:00-19:30 and 19:00-07:30. Weekend requirement: yes per unit needs. No call.

Floating Requirements: Floating as required and may float to sister facilities based on facility needs.
