ICST Behavior Specialist
The ICST Behavior Specialist plays a critical role in supporting individuals with behavioral challenges by implementing evidence-based interventions and strategies tailored to their unique needs. This position focuses on assessing behavior patterns, developing individualized behavior support plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote positive outcomes. The specialist will work closely with clients, families, and caregivers to provide training and guidance that fosters skill development and enhances quality of life. Additionally, the role involves ongoing data collection and analysis to monitor progress and adjust interventions as necessary. Ultimately, the ICST Behavior Specialist contributes to creating a supportive environment that encourages growth, independence, and well-being for those served.
The tools you need:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field.
- Experience working with individuals with behavioral challenges, preferably in a clinical or educational setting.
- Knowledge of behavior assessment tools and intervention strategies.
- Experience Functional behavior assessments(FA) and ability to analyze data and make data based decision
Expectations:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data accurately.
- Familiarity with electronic data collection systems and behavior tracking software.
- Training in trauma-informed care and culturally responsive practices.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments to identify client needs and challenges.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans based on assessment data.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including educators, therapists, and family members to ensure cohesive support.
- Provide training and coaching to caregivers and staff on behavior management techniques and strategies.
- Collect and analyze behavioral data regularly to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make data-driven adjustments.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to case reviews and treatment planning.
- Stay current with best practices and emerging research in behavior analysis and intervention.
Skills:
The ICST Behavior Specialist utilizes strong analytical skills daily to assess behavioral data and develop effective intervention plans tailored to individual client needs. Communication skills are essential for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and providing clear guidance to caregivers and staff. Problem-solving abilities enable the specialist to adapt strategies in response to client progress and emerging challenges. Organizational skills ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, empathy and cultural sensitivity are applied consistently to build trust and foster positive relationships with clients and their support networks.
