Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days | 4 x 10-Hour Shifts (6:00 AM – 4:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, safe patient care in the operating room across a range of surgical specialties including Orthopedic, General, Podiatry, GYN/OB (including C-Sections), Pain Management, Urology, and Endoscopy
• Apply and document the full nursing process — assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation — for surgical patients and their families
• Consult with physicians and clinical staff on nursing problems and interpretation of policies to ensure patient needs are met
• Serve as a patient advocate, incorporating family in care planning and maintaining strict patient confidentiality
• Practice the five rights of medication administration and demonstrate efficient time management to maximize productivity
• Participate in hospital and departmental quality improvement activities and maintain compliance with all policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of New Mexico or a valid compact license
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• PALS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• CPI certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an Operating Room or surgical nursing specialty

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Ability to speak additional languages is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and families of varying ages and cultural backgrounds
