Brief Job Description The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure material availability to support the production schedule. Additional duties include managing inventory levels, supporting material/product revisions, coordinating with suppliers, and assisting other business functions as needed. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities Place purchase orders with suppliers for raw materials and packaging based on forecast and production schedules. Maintain Excel spreadsheets for raw materials and packaging. Review and approve raw material demurrage and storage invoices. Schedule deliveries with tank companies and freight forwarders. Monitor open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery, resolving issues proactively. Expedite or defer orders based on schedule and inventory needs, maintaining optimal levels. Coordinate material flows during product changes, obsolescence, or supplier updates. Manage and resolve procurement issues, including invoice discrepancies and supplier performance. Provide backup support for procurement activities. Generate procurement reports for management. Collaborate with internal teams, providing excellent customer service and alternative supply options. Work independently and as part of a team. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong analytical skills Self-motivated, results-driven, innovative thinking Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Familiarity with ERP systems like Oracle Working Conditions Work closely with plant and commercial staff in an office environment. Occasional entry into warehouse areas following safety protocols. Position based in Mount Laurel, NJ, or Memphis, TN. Education, Training, and Experience High School Diploma or GED required. 0-5 years of purchasing experience; a college degree is preferred.
