Do you have physician claim billing experience? Would you like to work in a fast-paced business office where teamwork and self-motivation is abundant? NMC Health is looking for a knowledgeable team player to join our clinic billing staff. The right candidate should have HCFA-1500 billing experience, overall knowledge of 3rd party players and understanding of healthcare business office procedures. Some functions of the  Insurance Biller  include preparing, reviewing and electronically transmitting claims in a timely manner using electronic billing software; following up on unpaid claims; investigating denials and troubleshooting problems; staying up to date on insurance billing rules and regulations for physician claims.

This is an on-campus position (not remote). No weekends, no holidays, and no on call.

Effective 06/21/2023, there is no longer a need for either vaccination confirmation or a medical/religious exemption.

Qualifications:

Education & experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• College or vocational training is preferred
• Meditech experience preferred
• Customer service experience required
• Medical Billing Office or Patient Access experience required
• 2 years of medical insurance billing experience required, preferably physician claims

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of current professional billing and reimbursement procedures preferred
• Medical billing terminology required
• CPT and ICD-10 coding knowledge preferred
• Organized, self-motivated with strong attention to detail
• Ability to apply common sense and logic in the performance of job duties
• Manage varying duties and multiple tasks
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for successful contact with insurances in order to resolve issues
• Customer service for interacting with patients and family members
• Mathematic skills required
• Proficient with computers, learning new software, 10-key adding machine
• Microsoft knowledge required
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
• Self-motivated and goal oriented
• Ability to work in a team environment
