Senior Database Engineer
Our client, a leading organization in the technology and data management sector, is seeking a dedicated Senior Database Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Database Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Software Engineering department supporting large-scale data infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, collaborative spirit, and a proactive approach to innovation, which will align successfully within the organization.
What's the Job?
- Participate in the migration of ORCA VM infrastructure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Design, develop, and optimize SQL databases to support enterprise data needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement Big Data solutions using tools like BigQuery, Hadoop, and Iceberg
- Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure data integrity and accessibility
- Review and analyze complex software engineering challenges, providing innovative solutions
What's Needed?
- Minimum of 5 years of strong database engineering experience or equivalent
- Proficiency in SQL database development and management
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Iceberg
- Additional skills in Python, Java, and ETL processes are a plus
