Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Cerner is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <80 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Marshfield Clinic Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Marshfield Clinic Health System.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - 2 years of MS, PCU, ICU experience. Must have experience in setting within the last 1 year. - Must have drip experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Home trach/vent experience highly preferred.

Special Requests: - At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. - Must take a full 6 months off from any Sanford Health or Good Samaritan Society location. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. - Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level if applicable, patient ratio, and whether the facility is a teaching facility. - Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. - Previous Marshfield employment must be disclosed in the submission; if previously worked for Marshfield, the end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission. - Cannot guarantee same shifts for travel duos.

Unit Details: - Neuro/trauma-focused patient population including strokes, seizures, Guillain-Barré, myasthenia gravis, spinal injuries, thrombectomies, TNK/TPA 24 hours post, altered mental status, dementia, hematomas and bleeds, falls on blood thinners, and farm/MVA accidents. - Nurse:patient ratios: Days 1:4-5, Nights 1:5-6, dependent on acuity. - RNs titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, 3%, and Insulin. - RT equipment includes vents, trachs, CPAP, BiPAP, Vapo therm, and EtCO2. - Central monitor is located in a different area. - Nurse aides available; ratios are days 1:9 and nights 1:12. - Charge nurse takes an assignment; nights take a full team and days take a smaller assignment. - Willing to train on vents, but RN must be open to learning.

Shift & Scheduling: - Self scheduling; manager balances the schedule and opens it 6 weeks in advance. - Every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. - Typically 2/3 holidays for winter, and otherwise every other. - No call.

Floating Requirements: - Floats to sister Med-Surg units across six specialties: mixed care, cardiac, general, Med-Surg ortho, and heme/onc, to take more general patients.

7 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

1 reference required from within the last 3 years

Driver’s license required for submission
