Safety Advisor

Project: Federalsburg Paper Facility Expansion & Manufacturing Line Installation Schedule: Ideally 6 Days per Week (5 Days Acceptable) Hours: Approximately 40–50 Hours Per Week Pay Rate: $45.00/hour ($67.50/hour OT) Position Summary Intuitive Safety Solutions (ISS) is seeking a collaborative and assertive Safety Advisor to support a manufacturing facility expansion project in Federalsburg, Maryland. This project involves upgrading an active manufacturing facility with new production lines, utility installations, and associated construction activities. The successful candidate will serve as a visible field safety presence focused on monitoring contractor performance, identifying hazards, coaching safe work practices, and helping improve safety performance across multiple trades. This role is ideal for a safety professional who enjoys working directly with contractors and field personnel to influence behavior and drive positive safety outcomes. Project Overview The project includes installing new manufacturing lines and upgrading facilities within an active industrial environment. Trades onsite include: Electrical Contractors Millwrights Mechanical Installation Personnel Approximately 50+ contractor personnel may be working on-site during peak project activity. Key Responsibilities Provide daily field-based safety support and oversight for contractor activities. Conduct safety observations, inspections, and audits of ongoing work. Monitor contractor compliance with site safety requirements and applicable OSHA regulations. Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and work collaboratively with project teams to implement corrective actions. Participate in pre-task planning and job hazard analysis reviews. Support incident investigations and follow-up corrective action tracking. Maintain accurate safety documentation and daily reporting. Communicate safety concerns and recommendations to Foth project leadership. Promote a proactive, relationship-based safety culture through coaching and engagement. Serve as a trusted safety resource for contractors, supervisors, and project stakeholders. Required Qualifications OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required. Minimum 3 years of construction, industrial, manufacturing, or contractor safety experience. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively engage contractors and influence safe work behaviors. Proficiency with basic computer applications and reporting tools. Ability to provide and utilize a personal laptop for project communications and reporting. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting manufacturing facility upgrades or industrial construction projects. Experience working around mechanical installations, utilities, electrical work, and process equipment. CHST, ASP, CSP, CSHO, STS, or other professional safety certifications. Experience with contractor management and behavior-based safety initiatives. Prior experience working within active manufacturing environments.
