About the Position

Job Title: CST/ORT Profession: Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-17:00 Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Cardiac experience required Description: The traveler will be scheduled in accordance with facility policy. The individual is expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees. Candidates with 2+ years of experience are acceptable, with a requirement for cardiac experience. Unit specifics include 13 main operating rooms and a 1:1 patient ratio. Staffing includes one RN and one CST per room, with turnover staff, one charge RN, and 4:1 anesthesia coverage. Day and night shift options are available, with no floating policy required. The equipment includes advanced surgical technology, with a documentation system in place. Scheduled call shifts will consist of both weekdays and weekends. The procedures performed cover a variety of surgical areas, including general surgery, trauma, orthopedic, urology, GYN, plastics, and neurosurgery. Complex thoracic procedures will include valve replacements, CABG, and other endovascular cases. The successful candidate will have general circulating knowledge, including positioning, prepping, and facilitating these cases.
