Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years of experience in cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures in a community hospital setting.

Details

• Cardiac Cath Lab and EP Lab setting handling diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and special procedures
• Inpatient and outpatient patient population
• 5x8 hour day shifts starting at 0700, with one late day per week starting at 0800
• On-call requirement of one night per week plus every 4th weekend call rotation
• Participates in late and on-call mandate rotation, including holiday on-call as needed
• May float to Interventional Radiology if Cath Lab case load is low for the day
• Uses Cerner charting system and fluoroscopy equipment including Philips and Siemens

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Cath Lab/EP required
• Certifications required: ACLS, ARRT-R, BLS; ARRT Advanced Cert, CCI RCES, and CCI RCIS preferred
• License required if applicable
• Community hospital and Trauma Level II experience required; Teaching Hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring, EKG lead placement, prep of access site, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
• Experience with STEMI response, IV starts, phlebotomy, Rotablator atherectomy, EP ablations, pacemaker implants, and coil embolization
• Proficient in vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose), angioplasty, stent placement, and vascular studies
• Experience with EP procedures including cardiac mapping, cardioversion, conduction studies, and pacemaker insertion
• Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including PCI, PTCA, left/right heart catheterization, IABP, TAVR, and Watchman

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include equipment setup, room circulating, scrubbing to maintain sterile field, and accurate patient monitoring during procedures
• Light blue scrubs provided
• Previous travel experience preferred
• First-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted; holiday RTO requests require willingness to work one of the three major holidays
• Must be willing to float based on facility census and staffing needs
